When Family and Community Services (FaCS) (previously DoCS), become involved with children, Court proceedings may be commenced by FaCS in the Children’s Court of NSW.
Court matters in the Children’s Court are usually between the State (FaCS) and parents, however persons with a genuine interest in the safety, welfare and wellbeing of the children (grandparents, carers etc.) may make an application to be involved in the proceedings.
Care & Protection Law is a specialized legal area. Louise Coady Family Lawyers have extensive experience in representing parents, children, grandparents and other interested parties (including foster carers) in proceedings before the Children’s Court.
